These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the metanoia app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use metanoia.

The service

metanoia is a Christian discipleship app offering a daily examination practice, Scripture reading, journaling, prayer tracking, reading plans, and an AI Bible study tool (“Ezra”). We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country).

Acceptable use

• Do not use the app for unlawful purposes or to harm others.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its AI features.
• Do not submit content that is illegal or that infringes others’ rights.

Ezra and AI features — important

Ezra is an AI Bible study tool. It is a tool to help you study and understand Scripture — it is not a substitute for the Bible, your local church, a pastor, or qualified professional advice, and it is not infallible. AI responses may be inaccurate or incomplete. metanoia and Ezra do not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice; for those matters, please consult a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Subscriptions and billing

• metanoia Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription at $9.99/month or $59.99/year (prices may vary by region).
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device’s App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with App Store policies.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create (journal entries, prayers, notes, and so on). You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate the app and provide the features you use (including sending requested text to our AI provider to generate responses).

Intellectual property

Bible text is provided from public-domain translations (such as the World English Bible) and other sources as labeled in the app. The metanoia name, design, and software are owned by us and may not be copied or used without permission.

Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, metanoia is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
