metanoia (“metanoia,” “we,” “us”) is a Christian discipleship app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using metanoia you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address, used to create and secure your account.
• Content you create. Your display name, the disciplines you track, your daily “die to self” entries, tasks, goals, journal entries, prayer requests, Bible highlights and notes, reading-plan progress, and your messages to the in-app Bible study tool (“Ezra”).
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active metanoia Pro subscription. Payments are processed by Apple — we never receive your card or payment details.

We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing activity outside the app.

How we use your information

• To provide the app and sync your content to your account across devices.
• To generate AI features you request — journal reflections and replies from Ezra.
• To send the daily reminder, if you choose to enable it.
• To maintain security and prevent abuse.

Artificial intelligence

When you ask Ezra a question or use “Expand with AI” on a journal entry, the text you submit is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a response. This data is used only to produce your response and is handled under Anthropic’s commercial terms; it is not used to train their models. Please avoid entering information you do not wish to share with an AI service.

How your data is stored

Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase. It is transmitted over encrypted connections and protected by row-level security, so your records are accessible only to your authenticated account.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app — Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI responses), and Apple (subscription billing) — and only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.

Your choices and rights

• You can view, edit, or delete your content at any time within the app.
• You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Profile → Delete account, or by emailing us at the address below.
• You can request a copy of your data by contacting us.
• The daily reminder is optional and can be turned off at any time.

Children

metanoia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
